PWR Black Powder Rifle Raffle

During the evening of March 20th during the celebration of State Representative Jerry Weiers’ presentation of Person of the Year for 2009, we added the raffle drawing of the 1750’s handmade replica of a “50 Cal. Tennessee Hog”.  Black Powder craftsman “Boon” Harsh crafted this weapon from a large plank of “Curly Maple” wood and created one of the most beautiful works of art I, and many others who viewed the weapon during the raffle, have ever seen.  Attention to detail and the final product are unbelievable.

And the Raffle Winner is...
Dennis Cahill of Mesa, AZ!

Representative Weiers drew the ticket and we immediately call Dennis to let him know that he had won the rifle.  His enthusiasms could be heard over the telephone by many who were next to the cell phone.  During this conversation we found out that Dennis has owned and collected “Black Powder” rifles for many years.

I wish to express my sincerest congratulations to Dennis on his winning of the beautiful piece of functioning art, and a most sincere Thank You to everyone who participated in the raffle.  Proceeds from this raffle are designed to open a school for disabled Veterans and teach them the art/craftsmanship of building Black Powder weapons for the 16th, 17th, and 18 Hundreds.  I will keep you posted on the school opening and if you would like to donate to the Black Powder Project, you may send your donation by mail to:  Black Powder Project, P.O. Box 12876, Scottsdale, AZ 85267 or go to our website and select the Donate button and use your credit card (Please place in the comments section “Black Powder Project”.
