These past few days have been discussed on National News, where’s President Obama going to speak, what happened in your local hometown to honor those who sacrificed their all for our freedoms.  Some ask, “Did we do enough”, and other ask, “did we do too much?”  I ask, “Will we remember the other 364 days of the year?”

Those who lost their lives serving our Country deserve better than a 24 to 48 hour period of remembrance, tucked in between celebrating the unofficial beginning of summer fun, picnic, vacations, boat outings, and all the things that make summer fun.  From 1775 men and women began dying to create the freedoms we have today, many of us have allowed ourselves to designate one day or one weekend only as our day to say thank you.  Even though every day of our lives that we live in this country, under our form of Democracy, Capitalism, with all the Freedoms guaranteed in our Constitution should be celebrated as a Memorial Day.

You and I can begin this day to consciously make every day of the year another memorial day.  In our 365 day a year Memorial Day we can recognize the fallen as well as those who are serving today, or who have served our Nation.  This new 365 day Memorial Day should also included every police officer and fireman who has and will sacrifice themselves for your chance to live the “American Dream.”

The following are just a few things we can do to make each day Memorial Day:

1.     Fly the flag of the United States of American at home or work

2.     Say thanks to a soldier in uniform, a police officer, or a fireman

3.     Help these patriots/heroes who have been wounded in action and their families through tough times (a phone call, short message, anything that would make you feel better in the same situation)

There are hundreds more ways to show you’re Thanks to those who have given everything for our freedoms, and to those who are ensuring our freedoms today.

Please make every day Memorial Day.

God Bless America!
