“We the People” seem to be hiding from the truth about how many of our Veterans are being treated disrespectfully and disgracefully today.  Not just by those who hate anything Military but by us, “We the People."  We, who enjoy our freedoms and respect those who have sacrificed to ensure that we have retained our freedoms since the founding of this nation, by just ignoring the truth.  We live today with our freedoms because many men and women have offered their lives to protect our freedoms.  And yet we have a true disconnect with our Military and Veterans.  I wrote a blog titled “When Will We Ever Learn” on March 15 describing the horrific treatment of three of our finest who are awaiting a Courts Martial for hitting the #1 Wanted terrorist in Iraq who was accused of masterminding and participating in the capture and deaths of Blackwater contractors, tortured, and hung from a bridge in Bagdad, Iraq (the entire Seal Team denies this happened and yet their commanding officers and others up the chain of command prefer to take the word of a known terrorist rather than a team of honorable service men, what a shame.)

You and I can blame Washington D.C. for its political correctness approach to our enemies, we can blame the officers in charge of this Navy Seal team, and we can even blame the Military General for allowing this to proceed.  But I believe that “We the People” are equally to blame if not more to blame.

Remember, the preamble of the Constitution says “We the People”--  nowhere does it say that we are entitled to these freedoms without our own individual sacrifices.  For you who claim to be constitutionalist, please stop pointing fingers outward, at others, and begin to realize that “We the People” have allowed this to happen.  Oh, no you say, and yet I believe because we have not stood up, in mass, to protect our Constitution, because “We the People” have not stepped forward and said in a loud clear voice that we believe in and will protect our Constitution from enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Today is the day, not tomorrow, not next week, but today is the day you need to look in the mirror and say NO to the violations of our Constitution, NO to Political Correctness on the Battlefield, and Yes to supporting our Military, Veterans, and their families.

Come and join Project “We Remember” so we can show the world that We Remember and we will never forget.
